I qualified in 1988 in remedial massage with the Northern Institute of Massage.
I have over 20 years experience working with clients suffering pain brought on by injury, postural problems and the stresses of modern living.

I have also undertaken additional training with the Massage Training Institute and which included a wide range of massage techniques from gentle massage, stretches, relaxation work and very deep tissue techniques. Flexibility in applying this breadth of knowledge is paramount since their appropriateness must be determined by the client's needs at that particular time.

As a holistic massage therapist I aim to understand and treat the underlying cause of a problem and not just the symptoms. That’s why I take a medical history prior to treatment and tailor each session to the specific needs of each client.

I use different techniques and pressures to get muscles to soften and relax. They are then able to function properly as toxins are removed and localized circulation is improved.

I also use passive stretching to promote joint mobility and increase range of movement.

I'm also fully qualified with the Academy of On Site Massage. Onsite seated acupressure massage is a clothed massage given through the clothes of a client who is seated in a specially designed chair.

It targets areas of tension in the back, neck and shoulders and is based on the traditional technique of Japanese shiatsu.

Sessions are often given in the client’s workplace hence the ‘term onsite’ massage but the technique can be carried out anywhere.

As clients do not remove any clothing, privacy is not an issue, treatments are quick yet very effective and no oils are used so clothing does not get stained or sticky.

The massage can take anywhere from between 10 – 20 minutes depending upon time and client requirements. Effects can be felt immediately.

I also have an Indian Head Massage diploma which is acredited by the Guild of Holistic Therapists.
